It
was 23rd of March, 2015, when I initiate to write an essay about the
different type of people (patient) I encountered and acquainted during my stay
in Philippine Orthopedic Hospital (POC), my father was admitted there due to
his spinal disc problem.
Philippine Orthopedic Center
Our stay in hospital took for about a month. Way back year '99, my father was also admitted in the same hospital, same spinal problem, and same doctor. That's rare!

During those days I've met a lot of
awesome people who have different background of life situation, here are some of their photos:
Jayson and Rochelle
Nanay, Jenny and Esmeraldo

My
essay is only based on my own personal and theoretical observation. My lists
are: the hilarious, the habitual joker (Bolero), the freshman, the leader, the hard
headed/stubborn, the silent ones, the sympathizer, and the worrier/Complainer.
The Hilarious
They
are fun and the most jolly. When trying to engage in a conversation, it becomes
more lively and alive. They tend to heal the broken pieces of their fellow patients
by sharing stories about their past and present life situation and acknowledge
them to cherish their life while they still breathe. Plus, they have this
excessive joker approaches which makes them an interesting and awesome people.
The Habitual Joker
(Bolero)
They
are similar to jokers but what differentiate them is the appreciation and
acceptance of their jokes/approaches – can be funny, personal. They can be hated or loved but what matters most is they love what they are doing,
and they are proud of it.
The Leader
They
treat you equally with respect and help the other patients when in need through
advice, leaders can also be an excellent adviser. Their advice is about hope,
love, and peace to keep the other patient positive and hopeful regardless of
what they been through their life.
The Freshman
These
patients are first timers, they are little bit timid and shy and they don't do
the eye contact when you try to reach them out. They are very conscious about
what they do and what they will be doing.
The hard headed
These
patients do not follow the doctors’ advice nor the nurse orders or recommendations;
they have too much pride about themselves despite the situation they are into.
The Silent Ones
These
patients only tend to listen in a conversation, they don’t want to get involve. They only speak when someone wants to engage in a conversation with them.
The Sympathizer
They
love to talk to other patients concerning about their life and they sympathizes
with them by bringing out some hopeful advice and positive conversation, they
openly share their past experiences and future plans after their stay in the
said hospital (POC). These people maintain their peace of mind regardless of
the situation they’re going through.
The Worrier/Complainer
They
always complain of certain issues, big or small, almost every day. They worry
too much. They are aware of everything
that happens to them.
