Background
The mountain was named Talamitam
because of Talamitam trees grow in the mountain long ago, but as of today the
mountain is bald and grassy and Talamitam trees are nowhere to be found. Nowadays, locals are still mystified and are in
question on why the trees they plant dies after a few days.
Talamitam has a neighboring mountain called Mt. Apayang, it was open on August 3, 2015. Once you stand at the summit, you’ll have a glimpse of several mountains such as Mt. Batulao, Mt. Palay-Palay, Mt. Maculot, and Mt. Marami.
Traversing the neighboring mountains
is possible depends on where your start whether in Talamitam or Apayang
Jump-off point and guide is required. You are also obliged to register and
pay a registration fee in both jump-offs.

Journey
Decided to go back to Mt. Talamitam to fulfill an assertion I uttered with my previous guide and to some locals. The assurance of coming back is crystal clear to them when they instantly recognize me on my arrival at the registration point.
Old Registration Point
They simply implied, "We knew you'll come back" link with immense smile. I was deeply flattered and simply nod on what I hear while handling some of the donated unused hiking gears of my confidantes' and I to them.
Throughout the period of waiting on my companions, there's a interchange of conversation and discussion with the guides tackling the newly discovered mountain near Mt. Talamitam. Afterwards, upon the arrival of my hiking buddies, we register and pay a fee of P40/head.
Due to Typhoon Egay that time, a strong pour of rain and wind was felt. But In spite of the weather condition and the minor incident occurred that cause the delay of our hike, we still manage to continue and go on. Guide is not required and there is no standard fee but most hiker pay a minimum of P300/day and an additional fee for overnight/full traverse.
For the start of the hike, a several homestead will be pass by until the cemented bridge. The location of the Waterfalls and the water source is on the right side of the said bridge following the route of the river. Also, an improvised bamboo bridge will pass by before taking on the assault and ascended trail surrounded by various trees and fruits reaching the plain grassland with a partial view of Mt. Talamitam along with the peek of Mt. Batulao and its range.

Bamboo Bridge
The grassland area is slope and gradual, also known as a pasture land. Animals such as cows, goat and horse are visible all over the area, always be careful when crossing their hosted area, some of them get wild when a hiker is nearly approaching.
The grassland with a partial view of Mount Talamitam
We held ourselves at the grassland to rest while looking at the area of the trail-head and the view of Mt.Batulao engulf by the clouds, the same time, there was a feeling of euphoria. Subsequently, we continue to hike the assault trail going up the mountain with enormous rock along passing through the wide camp site that can comprise hundreds of population.
We were not lucky enough to experience a steady weather, cold and strong winds refrain us to cultivate ourselves on the stretch of our hike to the summit. Upon reaching the summit, we ought to find a space for camping and quickly pitch it due to the bad weather condition. We stayed and camped at the highest peak of the mountain. And during that time, there were no clearing, and the whole mountain was besieged by fog.
We spent our entire time at the summit confined on our tent experiencing a prison-like situation along with a group from Batangas whom become our companion in the course of our hike. Such thing as exploration were not undergo due to deplorable state and condition of the weather. But hey, we reached the summit, that's all that matter!
