Long ago, the falls became the playground of spirit people known in Ikalahan - Kalanguya word as "Bi-biao".  The waterfalls were surrounded by variety of healthy plants and the rock was covered by purely green moss during the stay of the spirit people as described by locals who witnessed it.

Until one day, the spirit people appear in a dream of a man named as "Pilusan".  One of them introduces himself as "Dumli-ing" and informed the man that they are among the spirits who live in the falls. But after the 1990's earthquake, the spirit people departed from the falls and their presence can't be perceived by the locals anymore. 2. Yung Gurel to Belete po ba sobrang layo? hindi kayang lakarin? And are there homestay accomodations in Balete?

    3. May Kalayuan po from Gurel to Balete. It will take 1 to 3 hours long. So far, wala pa pong homestay accomodation pa duon. As for our experience last year po, we were allowed to stay at one of the Barangay Hall/house of Balete. You just need to coordinate with the Barangay official prior sa scheduled trip sa Dumli-ing Falls.

    5. Yap. Safe naman po, though it will take you at least a day kung lalakarin niyo po. From Gurel to to Sitio Bahbahlak (Jumpoff area ng Mt. Pulag through Amba Trail) ay sementado yung road.
