Mt. Balagbag | My First Climb

The neighboring mountain of Mt. Maranat located at Rodriguez, Rizal. This mountain is part of the Sierra Madre range as it transitions into the plain of Central and Southern Luzon. The mountain is also favourited by hikers and bikers.

The Journey
Our first climb ever, along with a pioneer mountaineer who happen to be our guide having familiarize of the trail going to Mt. Balagbag. Since we reside in Manila we took a ride going to Fairview (SM). After arriving at Fairview (SM) we took a Bus ride going to Tungkong Mangga.

Licao-Licao Terminal

After a bus ride from Fairview to Tungkong Mangga we arrived at the terminal going to Licao-Licao. We did start our night hike in Licao-Licao going to Mt. Balagbag.

Taking a break at Licao-Licao

Night hiking in Mt. Balagbag is fun and enjoyable because of the view of the city lights down which is visible at the mountain top. The hike last for 3 hours for us to be able to reach the camp site.

Setting up the tent at the campsite
After setting up the tent we took a little rest.

Our rest lasted for only 2 hours because we only limit ourselves for one night and one day hike due to work matters. So, we took a little time to take a picture along with fellow mountaineer to have a memory of the beauty of Mt. Balagbag.

We also visited the Licao Licao falls. Enjoyed picnic and swimming despite the limited time we have.

Mt. Balagbag is a beauty that is recommended for amateur or professional mountaineer, biker, etc. The view of the city down is spectacular either day or night. The people are so hospitable and respectable.
