A year has passed since I started to explore Cavite. I was amazed and contented with the landmarks, many mountains, beautiful beaches, and the hospitable people I acquainted.
It all began with the hope of one person to join him in his hike to one of the popular mountains in Cavite – Mt. Palay - Palay. Out of curiosity, I spontaneously agreed to participate in his climb. I held no expectation and didn’t even wonder what it would be like to travel to Cavite since it will be my first time to visit the province. I just simply hope that the province would not be so a typical one. When I was able to set foot in the province of Cavite, I was in awe and completely bewildered by its beauty. Can’t help myself doing crazy stuff while glimpsing a 360 view at the highest peak of Mt. Palay - Palay. To sum up my first hike in Cavite – It was a memorable hike, and I was able to hike again within this year. It feels great to be back and be able to see things progressing for a better.
Whenever people ask me why I always go back to Cavite, I give them vague answers just like an appetizer to a main meal or a teaser for a good movie. I always end up convincing them to come with me so I will be able to show them more than I can tell. Stories are not enough for them to feel the happiness I felt when I reached the destination and personally witness the majestic scenery. Personal experience is indeed the best way for them to appreciate the splendor of mother Nature. The definition of beauty always depend on the eye of the beholder. As for me who travels a lot in some part of Cavite - hiking mountains and visiting beaches, I can easily say that it is one of the best provinces I went to.

How to get to Cavite
The historical province of Cavite is very accessible from Manila. Public transport is available from about 4 a.m. to around 10 p.m. daily.
DLTB Buses, Saulog and St. Anthony buses (many of them with AC) going to Cavite load and unload passengers at Gil Puyat and at Vito Cruz corner Harrison Street across the Central Bank of the Philippines (near the Harrizon Plaza). Tamaraw-FX taxis are parked a short distance away in front of McDonald's (beside Harrizon Plaza). These buses and taxis usually take Roxas Blvd. Coastal Road route going to Cavite (passing Bacoor, Imus, Kawit and Noveleta). Others are bound for Rosario, Naic or Tanza (passing the same towns.)
There are also mini-buses going to Tagaytay or Trece Martines (by passing Bacoor, Imus, Silang, Indang and other towns). These are found in Baclaran. These mini-buses usually take the route via Parañaque/Las Piñas. If you are in Metro Manila, it is best to take a taxi and ask to be taken to either Harrison Plaza or Baclaran, depending on the intended destination in Cavite.
