Mt. Maranat | Dayhike Climb Part II

It was my second time around hiking the Mt. Maranat with my colleagues – Christian, MJ and Joan.

The Maranat falls and the campsite area

The hike was not well planned, properly not organized and the invitation was abrupt; resulting to only four of us were able to climb to Maranat.

Our intention is to visit Tatay Nestor - known as the father of mountaineers in Maranat, and greet him personally on his upcoming birthday, November 29, 2014. Also, to successfully reach the Mt. Maranat by Joan; her first climb was a failure and to set foot in Maranat Falls again. Our main goal is to enhance our physical strength and endurance for the upcoming Major Climb in Tarak Ridge at Mariveles, Bataan.

Journey
Upon arriving at Licao, we take a time for a break. After, We headed to Barangay Hall to pay a registration fee - P10/head.

Along the way heading to Barangay Hall, Mj suddenly notice this lovely creature and brought it throughout the hike going to the mountain.

We consumed 4 hours reaching the campsite in Maranat,  it was fun and lively though because there were a lot of conversations and jokes shared along the way. The weather was not that bad, it was a sunny day and the breeze of the air is refreshing.

Here a short clip on our way to Maranat as the wind rises:

As you are getting closer to the mountain, you will view the endearing beauty of the falls and the whole campsite area.

 Me, sightseeing at the falls

Before reaching the campsite, all hikers must be able to cross the famous river. The river condition during our hike was calm and steady and we're able to cross the river safely.

We took time to swim in the famous river, Chan and Me

After crossing the river, we arrive at the house of Tatay Nestor. There were few presence of fellow mountaineer so we're able to mingle with tatay and his family members, he do shared a lot of stories about his son, about mountaineering and teach us how to survive in any mountain explored.

Dagdag Kaalaman
Maranat has 9 different falls which is just down below the camp area.

Maranat Falls
As usual, we roam around again in the falls, jump off and took a longer time in Camp Flower falls.

After spending hours long in the falls, we were able to return to campsite to dress up, Tatay Nestor and the other mountaineers did request us to stay overnight in Maranat but due to works matters and there were no plenty of food brought, we declined.

Before we depart, the group planned to have a groupie picture with Tatay and here it goes:

It was a great feeling to be back again in Maranat, the nature and the people were very welcoming and to Joan whom she has finally reached and successfully set foot in Maranat.

Thank you Tatay Nestor and to my coallegues, it was been a wonderful journey. Sa uulitin! || End
